    1993-Present: Completed the Harvard Law School Mediation Training Program. Participate(d) in numerous mediation, negotiation and interest-based dispute resolution training courses at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. Attended in-house training programs at the British Columbia Labour Relations Board including interest-based negotiations, alternative dispute resolution and consensus-building techniques. Completed first level of the Commercial International Arbitration course sponsored by the American Arbitration Association and The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

    1994-Present: ARBITRATOR / MEDIATOR
    Chair arbitration and expedited arbitration panels in public and private sectors, and provincial and federal jurisdictions. Mediate labour disputes. Arbitrator on the Register of Arbitrators at the British Columbia Collective Agreement Arbitration Bureau (CAAB), ADR Institute of Canada - Chartered Arbitrator (including Amex Dispute Resolution Panel), National Academy of Arbitrators, and the British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre (BCICAC). Arbitrator on the Roster of Arbitrators under the Canada Labour Code. Referable mediator with the British Columbia Arbitration and Mediation Institute (BCAMI). Investigate and mediate harassment and respectful workplace complaints.

    2004 - Present ADJUDICATOR: Yukon Public Service Labour Relations Board
    2004 - Present ADJUDICATOR: Yukon Teachers' Labour Relations Board
    Adjudicate and mediate labour and employment disputes falling under the legislative mandate of these statutory tribunals.

    1992-1996 VICE CHAIR: British Columbia Labour Relations Board
    Served as a full-time Vice Chair from 1992-95 and as a part-time Vice Chair from 1995-96. Adjudicated a wide variety of disputes under the Labour Relations Code. Worked with the mediators in the Mediation Division of the Board. Facilitated the settlement of labour disputes and implemented new case management and alternative dispute resolution techniques.

    Board Appointments
    1998 - 2001: CHAIR: Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board
    Order In Council appointment to Chair the Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board. The Board is responsible for licensing all Emergency Medical Assistants in the province. The Board also receives and investigates patient care complaints and conducts disciplinary hearings into such complaints.

    1984-1992 LAWYER: Rankin & Company (Partner)
    Acted as legal counsel for trade unions, employers, professional organizations and individuals in labour relations, professional discipline, Human Rights and Workers' Compensation matters. Advised clients on all aspects of labour law and administrative law. Appeared before a variety of tribunals including the British Columbia Labour Relations Board, Canada Labour Relations Board, arbitration boards, professional discipline panels, Workers' Compensation Review Boards and the Courts.
